The Next Picasso: Who Won and Who’s Packing Up Their Paintbrushes

Celina

Congratulations to Celina Ryden for winning the seventh challenge! You got inside the mind of Picasso, and your nails prove it!

Week7-winner

Guest judge Nishita Doshi of China Glaze said, “I loved that she took it a step further and addressed a major issue in our society today. Overall an incredible job with an incredible message.”

CND head judge Jan Arnold said, “Loved the message in the video and how Celina integrated her nail tutorial together with her message. Beautiful interpretation of the art and very interesting shapes.”

NAILS senior editor Beth Livesay said, “I loved the use of ‘ugly colors.’ Changing the brush was a great way to differentiate between polish and paint for the judges to see. The different nail shapes were also a good idea.”

NTNA season 2 winner Lavette Cephus said, “I love the inspiration behind this set. The texture and colors are dead-on Picasso.”

Celina will receive the top 50 shades from China Glaze, plus a selection of nail art liners (approximate retail value: $500).

Week7-packing

The nail tech who is packing up her paintbrushes this week is … Alecia Mounixay. Alecia proved to be a solid competitor in the contest. Unfortunately, since she did not complete this week’s challenge she was automatically eliminated.

This won’t be the last you hear from Alecia. She will move on to CND’s Last Chance Design Lab where she’ll have one last chance to stay in the competition. Check back Friday to see who will move on in our Last Chance battle — Victoria or Alecia.

Tune in Monday to find out the next challenge and vote for your favorites! Good luck to our five remaining competitors!
