In 2014, Akzentz launched its specially formulated, gel-art collection – Gel Play – which has since gained global acclaim with nail technicians worldwide for its beautifully rich pigmentation. In tribute to this line, we asked the Top 11 to play up their creativity by recreating their favorite board game on a set of 10 nail tips.
Tips had to remain individual and graduated in size (as if fitting from finger to finger). The design must incorporate 3-D gel art on at least 6 nails (for this challenge acrylic was not allowed). Gel-polish and acrylic paints were allowed, but not lacquer. Embellishments were also acceptable, but they must not make up more than 10% of the design. Contestants were allowed to use unconventional items in their looks as well. To show us their strategy, contestants had to take step-by-step photos and upload them to Nail Art Gallery.
This week’s challenge winner will receive the ultimate Akzentz nail artist prize package, featuring over 20 UV/LED Gel Play Paints, glitters, Bling On, Shine On, Matte On, and a selection of products from the award-winning Luxio and Options series. In addition, the winner will also receive a compact LED lamp and Art Palette ($525 value).
