Avant Garden: The Top 2 and the Bottom 2

Challenge nine, sponsored by EzFlow, asked our Top 4 to create a 3-D garden using the Ethereal Blossom collection. This week’s guest judge was Allie Baker of EzFlow.

In alphabetical order, the top 2 are:

Halley: As we near the end of Season 5, it is important to wow the judges, and your design did just that. This set demonstrates excellent dimension, composition, and an exquisite eye for detail. Everything here is crafted  with care and precision. You showed us a literal garden with magical artistry and used the Ethereal Blossom line with the utmost skill. Absolutely beautiful work!

Valerie: This week you took the judges’ breath away. They used words like “beautiful” and “delicate” to describe your completed set. The hollowed out tips made your design breathable and interesting. The details and descriptions of the design along with the acrylic technique made this set a joy to watch come alive. Well done!

Unfortunately, there always has to be a bottom group. The bottom 2, in alphabetical order, are:

Ashton: As we’ve come to expect, you showed us a very clean design. This set has gorgeous texture and a whimsical feel to it. The art is cohesive and unique. The judges liked the point of inspiration and your unexpected take on avant garde and the cuticle technique. Your video, however, is sometimes out of focus and leaves the judges wanting even more. They recommend keeping up the energy throughout the video to motivate and mentor other nail artists.

Hemi: The snake was a huge hit with the judges. The cactus texture is cool and the advice in your tutorial is valuable. Each tip could be more different though, with more designs on the open space.
