In alphabetical order, the top 3 are:
Ashton: Your mural and tragic love story won the judges’ hearts. They found your design crisp, detailed, and a great use of the ibd product.
Halley: The symmetry of your piece and range of colors took the judges’ breath away. A beautiful choice of inspiration that was easily recognizable and told wonderfully.
Valerie: The judges praise your clever and unconventional love story. The detail work here is a feast for the eyes! One recommendation: Say “cure” instead of “cook.” Well done!
The following techs can breathe again. They are in the middle of this week’s pack and are safe. Congratulations to:
Dana: Great use of gel color for this captivating creation. The judges thought you told this dark story beautifully on camera, complete with technique tips, tricks, and design ideas.
Hemi: Your interesting take on a common tale really showed off your sculpting skills and eye for color. The story, artwork, and video worked together to transport the judges. Great work!
Jenna: The judges agree your detail work is exquisite. They found your piece aspirational and avant-garde. The inspiration is clever and polarizing, but overall, the judges are on your side and are glad you explored the heart of the ocean.
Unfortunately, there always has to be a bottom group. The bottom 3, in alphabetical order, are:
Kostadina: Your buildings really wowed the judges, as did the mechanics of the movable arm and glasses. The lone tip outside of the city seems to not belong, and could have best been incorporated elsewhere. Watch the movement in your tutorial so that we can see your nail work straight on.
Trish: The judges loved your use of embellishments. The ship in particular was lovingly created. Your tutorial still feels too rushed though.
Sammi: The judges love your strong sense of color and that you chose such an unusual (but true) point of reference. The objects that pop out of your design really give it that extra wow factor. Go tighter on the zoom in your video and watch the audio.
