This piece is really special to me because it perfectly describes how I felt when I was chosen for Top 12. I have wanted to compete for a few years now and there was always something I was telling myself to hold me back. At first it was the fear of doing a video of myself, then it was confidence issues and the feeling that I wasn’t good enough. So each step I take represents something in my life that I had to overcome to get to the next level. This scene represents reaching a dream of mine. The backdrop of a darker cloud scene with the door leading to something unknown is exactly what this competition has been thus far. Once opening the door, a vibrant future lies ahead and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I airbrushed the background with acrylic paint. With gel-polish I hand painted all the design and details. Holographic pigment and glitter were used as accents. The balloons are made of hard gel and craft wire. I can’t wait to see where this competition takes me and I am so grateful to be one of the Top 12.

How do I feel to be one of the Top 12 for Season 6? In one word, lucky! There are a lot of things on my wheel of fortune, but this competition and getting into the Top 12 is an amazing feeling, a true jackpot!

When I first found out I would be in the finals, my initial reaction was disbelief. When I saw the word “Congratulations!” my jaw hit the floor. I chose to make the theme of my nails “dumbfounded.” When I Googled this word the first thing that popped up was funny Keanu Reeves memes from the movie “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.” I also wanted to make my nails look like a meme so I used the generic meme font and a tie dye background.

I feel like a little fish propelling myself into the big pond with the big fish. The fish may be small but it’s got determination!

I am seriously shook to the core as I was not expecting to make it through after seeing such incredible pieces from the other contestants in the pre-challenges. The moment I received and read the email from Beth I was just like, “I am deceased!” I really had no words to explain how I felt. It’s so unreal and still feels quite surreal.

I am so excited to be one of the Top 12 for NTNA Season 6! All the different emotions rushing through me each stage of the competition have finally come together and now I’m over the moon, dancing with the stars. To be recognized and rewarded for my nail art among such a talented group of nail artists is beyond my abilities to properly put into words. I hope you can see the happiness and joy in this design to show you how I truly feel for being part of the Top 12.

I have followed the competition for years, even before I trained to become a nail technician myself and never in a million years did I think I would one day be chosen to take part! Right now I feel like I am the lead character in my very own fairy tale and I cannot wait to see what this competition has in store for me, I am going to give it everything I’ve got.
