Iconic French: The Top 3 and the Bottom 3

Challenge 6, sponsored by Orly, tasked the Top 7 to put a twist on the French manicure by playing with shape and create a look for an icon of today.

In alphabetical order, the Top 3 are:

Ally: The judges enjoyed your outfit inspiration! You took a risk by doing different shapes, but overall this set is clean, cohesive, and shows off Builder in a Bottle ever so nicely! We’re sure Billie would be proud.

Kadee: Your entry this week had a lot of wow: geometric cutouts, architectural ability, and the illusion of weightlessness. We agree J. Lo would be lucky to wear these! By now we know you are a clean and well-calculated nail artist, so just push your work that much further to really surprise us.

Stella: Once again, you showed the judges that you can engineer a masterpiece. The impossible triangles were so cool and lightweight-looking. Your French design was sophisticated and impactful. As Katy Perry would say, you’re a firework!

The following artist can breathe again. She is in the middle of this week’s pack and is safe. Congratulations to:

Giselle: Your versatile nail design caught the eyes of the judges this week. They thought your artwork and shaping coupled with the convertibility of the magnets was pretty amazing. Your video is where there’s still some room for improvement. Watch the dust and put more thought into your pro tips, please.

Unfortunately, there always has to be a bottom group. The bottom 3, in alphabetical order, are:

Becca: The judges agree that your inspiration for this challenge was a wonderful one, we just wish the jabots had been incorporated into the smile line somehow. The portrait of RGB was ever so grand! We know with hand painting talents like yours that more detail could have been added to the nails to make this design supreme.

Helen: There’s a lot going on in your set this week. The crown and spider, while cool, detract from the overall French look. Edit your designs down to give the nail art the utmost impact.

Kelsey: We feel we’ve seen this type of design from you before. The judges know you are capable of working outside your comfort zone, so we encourage you to do more of that. While we appreciate your resourcefulness, we also caution you to consider using sponsor products as they are meant to be used.
