Challenge 10, sponsored by Wildflowers, asked the Top 3 to portray a mood or emotion on a set of nails without saying what that mood is. This week’s guest judge was Lauren Wireman of Wildflowers Nails.
Since there are only three competitors left, we aren’t announcing the top and bottom results until tomorrow. But you can read below for the judges’ comments on all three finalists.
Ally: The judges saw a whole new side of you this week! We did not expect this color way, but loved your choice in shape, use of Lace Paste, texture, and all-around FIERCE set! Being on-camera and educating are two of your greatest strengths and we liked seeing you on camera twice this week! You do a good job of getting up close to your nails, but make sure they are always in focus. This is a minor comment, just keep it in mind. Your finished styled shot is also strong, and we thank you for talking about posing. We’ve so enjoyed watching you this season. You are definitely a STRONG competitor who has proved she can change things up!
Kadee: Your art was magical and dimensional with great technique. We sensed a calm, tranquility in your work this week, which is impressive, considering we’re at the end of the competition! The lightness you portrayed with your color story, however, is weighed down with the hooks and wire. The judges also agree that the final shots don’t capture the true shape of these nails. You’ve come a long way in terms of video and we feel that your pacing this week was the perfect speed!
Stella: Zen and peaceful are just two of the words that come to mind when seeing your nails this week. Once again, you upped your technique and captured your nails with a perfect pose! This design is definitely avant garde and your precision is ever-present! It would be nice to see a different background for this challenge, since you already used this one in the Swarovski challenge. Overall, wonderful work!
Check back tomorrow to find out who won this week’s challenge and who’ll be packing up their paintbrushes.
