For Season 7’s final Last Chance Design Lab challenge sponsored by CND, Kadee Brown and Giselle Caballero will battle it out one-on-one to see who has a chance of staying in the competition. CND’s Jan Arnold will select her favorite look Friday and you’ll find out who will be in the final Top 3.

All Last Chance challenges are done on a single nail tip. Contestants are also asked to describe their looks. There are no other elements to this battle.

Since Kadee packed her paintbrushes after Wildflowers’ In the Mood challenge, this week’s Last Chance is loosely related.

Scream it Out: Sculpt one word on a single nail tip that explains why you belong in the finale.

Here are the looks they created:

Kadee

I have always considered myself to be an enthusiastic person. I am enthusiastic towards my art, my gift. I am enthusiastic toward thinking outside the box and surprising people. For this Last Chance I wanted to express my desire to continue bringing surprises and color to this competition. The 3-D art is sculpted with acrylic and detailed with gel paints. The letters are raised off the nail to give the appearance of popping out of the box at the tip of the nail. Surrounding the word are balloons, ribbons and crystals. I wanted this nail to really represent my feelings for nail art and art as a whole. I have always been a colorful person and I pride myself on taking my path, thinking outside the box. I hope this nail gives you a little enthusiasm for life in a time when we need all of the positive energy we can get our hands on!

Giselle

Being part of NTNA is my dream and with every dream obstacles will come, but I truly believe that without obstacles the road would be just flat. At times fears and negative thoughts cross our minds. When we feel insecure we let our negativity take over and when this happens the only way out is turning it around, remembering where your passion is and use that passion to make the impossible become possible and go against the odds. I’m ready to to continue pushing myself, to continue growing and learning and to go to the next step, I’d love to make it to the top three! When I look back at every moment in the competition, I feel proud of my roll, even when things were tough, or didn’t go as planned, lessons were learned and I have grown from that, I believe I have pushed myself to places I never thought I’d go but most importantly I’ve learned that the decision to better ourselves really comes from within and I hope others can relate and learn from it as well. I chose the word “Impossible” because it really embodies my journey, I had the odds against me and the doubts in my head but I continued to push myself and here we are today, I decided I would make it possible instead and if anything I would turn it into an “I’m-possible.” I was inspired by avant garde sculpture/architecture and a campy garden theme to represent growth from the concrete cracks in the sculpture. The letters are sculpted with acrylic to create the shape of the sculpture that changes depending on the angle, when seen under the right angle you can read the word impossible but I prefer to see it as “I’m possible”.

Congrats to Giselle for winning the final CND Last Chance challenge of the season! Giselle went up against Kadee to sculpt one word saying why she should be in the finale. CND’s Jan Arnold chose the winner.

Jan says, “Giselle, your nail this week is so symbolic of you and your journey. YOU are the rock (I’m) from which everything else emanates (POSSIBLE). This lettering and architecture communicated clearly how you were able to bend with each challenge and rise to a higher and higher expectation.  (And p.s. this lettering technique is so unique and elevated!) It is a joy and my honor, to tell you, YOU ARE THIS WEEKS’ WINNER OF THE LAST CHANCE CHALLENGE! Great job!!  Congratulations and now…get ready for the finale!”

This means Giselle will move on to the final three with Ally and Stella!
