A to Z CND: Who Won and Who’s Packing Up Their Brushes

Congrats to Silvia Gago López (@toxicvanity) on your A to Z CND personal journey nail mural.  The judges were so impressed by your artistry and your brilliant use of color.

Head judge Jan Arnold said, “Well…WOW!!! Great clear perspective of art and color; beautiful drawing, painting, and lettering! Excellent color blending and attention to detail; loved the story and everything about you!!  Maybe slow the video down in places so we can really learn from you!”

Judge and Game Master Winnie Huang said, “You are an ARTIST! Love the story and how it transitioned through ten tips! Watching you paint yourself holding your son was a treat! You are a cloud master!”

Season 7 Champion Giselle Cabellero said, “Hola Silvia! I think we can all definitely see what an amazing cartoonist you are, this piece looks like it came straight from a Disney movie. I love how flawlessly you worked with the products and how clean your detail and finished work is. Beautiful concept and great element composition, it feels very well balanced.  As a fellow non-English speaker I know how hard it is doing the voice over, so good on you for talking us through your process. I definitely feel that the speed of your time lapse and the volume of the music became a distraction and made it a bit hard to keep up, so just keep an eye on that.”

Guest Judge and Nail Artist Buddy Sims said, “Please hold while I get my Mickey ears for this!  I can literally hear the birds singing in your piece! Your color choices are outstanding.  I love your story and learned so much about you with this design.  In future filming, please give viewers the “how” of what you are doing, like what brushes and techniques you are using. The nail artist who will be packing her paintbrushes this week is…Marie-Louise Coster.  The judges were charmed by your charm bracelet mural, Marie-Louise, and congratulate you again on making it to the Top 14 in this world-class competition!

But this won’t be the last you hear from Marie-Louise. She will move on to CND’s Last Chance Design Lab where she’ll have one last chance to stay in the competition. Check back next Friday to see who Marie-Louise will go up against in the first Last Chance battle.
