"Crazy good" is how one of our judges described the extraordinary batch of entries we received for our Mini Masterpiece contest. With jaw-dropping precision and exceptional skill, our readers managed to successfully capture the essence of many of the world's most celebrated paintings on a tiny nail tip.  After much deliberation, we’ve awarded the top prize to Dawn Minton of A New Beginning Salon & Spa in Rensselaer,  Ind., for her depiction of “Head of a Young Woman with Tousled Hair” by Leonardo DaVinci.

We have also identified stand-out works in several categories. By far the most popular works of art with our readers were Munch’s “The Scream” and Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”— we received eight of each. We also divided the entries by historical period and selected winners in these categories as well.

We hope you are as dazzled as we are by the talent you see on display. Our thanks to everyone who entered and made this a fantastic and oh-so-close competition.
