Memorable Art Launches NAILS First Mural Contest

Still, given the track records of each of our winners, we shouldn’t be surprised by their remarkable work. First-place winner Sue Tumblety of Sanzio Salon & Spa in Matawan, N.J., is a veteran nail artist and teacher who has published a nail art “how-to” book and has also worked painting miniatures for the Walt Disney Galleries.

Second-place winner Kazuko Tomiyama of Miwa Salon in Tokyo was the winner of NAILS’ 2003 Self-Portrait Contest. Her unique and creative designs have also been featured in nail magazines in her native country.

Third-place winner Lorena Marquez of At Your Fingertips in Watsonville, Calif., is well known in competition circles having placed on NAILS’ Top 25 ranking for the past six years. She currently holds the #1 spot.
