I was starting to have mixed acrylic colors that were going unused because clients couldn’t see them, so I purchased three magnetic boards at IKEA , business card magnets with adhesive at Office Depot (I cut each magnet into squares), and put a magnetic square on my product lids. One board showcases Young Nails acrylics and glitters and pigment powders from Michael’s. The middle board has my color/glitter blends. The third board has all of the bling that can go in a nail.

I use plastic straw holders with baskets to keep everything together in my salon. They cost $2 each, and I have about 10 of them. Each one holds something different, such as cotton balls, files, nail brushes, buffer blocks, or metal implements. When I pull on the lid, the basket brings up the item I need so I only touch one at a time, keeping the rest of the items clean for later use.

We have five stations in our salon and a bar where our supplies are. We each have plastic white baskets that we put what we need for each service. Clients can see us getting fresh implements for their service and we only have in the basket what we need for that client.

I have what I call my “tower of color and glitter.” I have all of my colored acrylic/glitter sorted by set and labeled. I have all of it in one spot and can find anything I would need quickly.

Our organization is very simple. We have a nail polish stand, while creams, lotions, etc., are displayed along the shelf for convenient use! Other products and equipment are packed and stored neatly in cloth bags for us to carry with us for house visits when we need to.

To keep my nail files and orangewood sticks clean and organized I use pencil boxes. To keep my acrylic colors and glitters organized I use plastic trays with individually numbered compartments to coordinate with a nail tip display I made to show off the colors. I keep everything organized in my drawers with trays.
