Eco-Conscious Polish Collection

by NLS Staff | December 28, 2009 | Sheswai | PolishConscious Salon | Bookmark +

Billed as “seven gorgeous colors to suit any occasion… or dress,” Sheswai’s first polish collection is the brainchild of Los Angeles-based nail tech Debbie Leavitt. Not only is the lacquer free of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP, the unique bottle caps are made from sustainably harvested wood grown on family-owned tree farms. A portion of Sheswai sales is donated to organizations that protect the environment.

So what does Sheswai mean? Says Leavitt: “I came up with the name Sheswai when trying to find a name that suited how I felt about my work and what I wanted to create — something feminine; the way she moves … ‘she sways.’”
