How do I backfill the white tip with silk wraps?

February 07, 2006 | Bookmark +

I have a client who wants silk wraps with a white tip. Please tell me how to backfill the white tip with silk wraps.

Answer

There is no way to backfill the white tip on silk or fiberglass wrap nails since there is only the clear fabric. The best advice I can give is to remove the grown-out tip by soaking in acetone and apply a new set using new white tips and removing most of the free edge. — Gail Crawford is national education manager for Backscratchers Salon Systems.

How can I prevent lifting when my client's hands are constantly in water?

I have a client who is in the medical field so her hands are constantly in water. She has me keep the length of her acrylic nails short. No matter what I do, she always has at least one nail that comes off, and she always has lifting and gets water under the acrylic. I prep the nails correctly, I have a cuticle bit to clean the cuticle area, and I wipe the nail with alcohol, dehydrate the nail, and prime the nail. What should I do?
