Viet Fashion Week 2013: Behind the Scenes

The world’s top Vietnamese fashion designers came together for the first Viet Fashion Week (VFW) on Oct. 3rd at the Asian Garden Mall in Westminster, Calif. The event was the first international Vietnamese fashion show, showcasing the latest collections from Calvin Hiep, Thai Nguyen, Jacky Tai, Peter Phan, Vicki Nguyen, Cynthia Bui, and the Sachika Twins.

70 models were prepped at Advance Beauty College in Garden Grove, Calif, where Advance Beauty College students were able to assist each designer's hair and make-up teams, while nail students prepped the model's hands and feet. Hand & Nail Harmony's Thao Nguyen and her team of three worked with each designer to create one look to match each collection.

VietSALON associate editor Kim Pham had a backstage pass for a behind-the-scenes look at Viet Fashion Week's nails and fashion.
