Hand in Hand: The Top 3 and the Bottom 3

Challenge 3 sponsored by LeChat, asked our Top 10 to paint a pairing of two things or people that go together using Perfect Match gel-polish only. Contestants also had to complete a video diary. This week’s guest judge was Anastasiia Morozova of LeChat.

In alphabetical order, the top 3 are:

Ashton: The judges agree your work was clean, graphic, and definitely complementary. Your video was straightforward as well. While your look was sophisticated, the judges challenge you to do a more advanced design as the competition gets tighter.

Hemi: Your gradient and painting work is just delicious! However, the judges think that the nail tips chosen are too long and wide — something to watch out for next time.

Valerie: Your painting skills and storytelling were music to the judges’ ears! A few more details in your video would have heightened your score even more.

The following techs can breathe again. They are in the middle of this week’s pack and are safe. Congratulations to:

Dana: Your storybook take on squirrels enchanted the judges. We loved seeing this technique from you!

Halley: You’re aware that your voiceover undergoes a slight change in the video, so watch that for next time. This theme was recognizable to many of the judges, and although it features the work of two different art styles, it goes together.

Jenna: This classic concept was executed with clean, precise lines. While beautiful, the judges felt it could use some added oomph. The intro in your video may also be a bit too long and the music can sometimes overshadow your voice.

Trish: The judges agree your Zeus and Hera were phenomenal! But they were left wanting to see even MORE of your work on the other nails.  You have a knack for portrait art, don’t be afraid to show it off!

Unfortunately, there always has to be a bottom group. The bottom 3, in alphabetical order, are:

Katie: The judges appreciate your theme, but there was a lot going on and it made the overall look very crowded and not seem cohesive. Your demo also didn’t always show the nails in focus, which is what we really want to see!

Kostadina: Your concept was super cute! LeChat especially loved the detail you incorporated that had their logo and name. The video, however, was not always the clearest as you were filming from the side.

Sammi: Your personal story spoke to the judges, as they love learning about you. The finished design is not clear at first glance, so make sure your artwork can stand out. Zoom in on the nail in your video so viewers can see what you’re doing up-close.
