Celebrity manicurist Casey Herman used KISS Gel Fantasy Nails to create a sleek manicure for Lupita Nyong’o. To get the look, Herman used KISS Gel Fantasy Nails in AB Fab withNail Art Paint Kits in Masquerade and Gala and KISS Gemstone Nail Art accents to create a colorful custom design. “With 'Camp' being the theme of this year’s Met Gala and Lupita’s gorgeous colorful Versace look, I immediately thought of carnival in Rio," says Herman. "I wanted to put the party on her nails with a little drama. The length of the KISS Gel Fantasy nails are the perfect length for added theater and I loved using the KISS Gemstone Nail Art to give a beautiful rainbow effect."

For the manicure, Pattie selected the pink matte and iridescent chrome nails from the KISS Masterpiece Nails in Everytime I Slay. She filed the nails from coffin to an almond shape to match her natural shape, and added striping tape down the center of each nail. “Priyanka's gown had various feathers in pastel colors, and KISS Masterpiece Nails were the perfect accent to that shade of pink," says Yankee. "She went as 'Nick's vanity,' so the chrome in this set gave off the reflective properties of a mirror. Priyanka said they were 'just enough sparkle' to compliment her gown."

Truong created a glittering Met Gala manicure for actress Kerry Washington.To get the look, Truong used imPRESS Press-On Manicure as the base with a glitter top coat to complement the edgy hair and makeup direction. Kerry’s nameplate ring added a tough accent to the feminine manicure. "We chose black nails to emphasize the chic black beading of the Tory Burch gown, adding a layer of iridescent glitter that gave the perfect touch of glam to tie in with her makeup," says Truong.

Lucy Boynton

“Lucy’s look tonight is so angelic," says Elle. "We chose Essie’s Press Pause to play off her delicate Prada dress. Then, Essie in Set in Stones, along with Swarovski crystals added a touch of whimsical drama. Think Lucy in the sky with diamonds!” 

Get the look:
1. To start, Essie’s Here to Stay base coat was applied.
2. Next, Essie in Press Pause — a soft gray with a cloudy tint — was applied. Once dry, an additional coat was applied to each nail except the ring finger.
3. For the ring fingers, following Essie’s Set in Stones was applied.
4. Once dry, nails were accented with Swarovski crystal designs. To seal the look in, Gel.Setter top coat was applied.

Cara Delevingne

Celebrity manicurist Thuy Nguyen used KISS Gel Fantasy Nails to create a colorful metallic manicure for actress and model Cara Delevingne. Delevingne’s Dior Haute Couture’s take on the ‘Camp’ theme was a sheer striped rainbow outfit with matching platform heels, a dazzling choker, and a headpiece featuring eyeballs, dentures, banana peels, and a fried egg. Her stockings, which seamlessly matched the linear pattern on her dress, were actually a ‘trompe l’oeil’ — rainbow stripes painted directly on her skin.

To get the matching nail look, Nguyen used KISS Gel Fantasy Nails in Ab Fab as a base and layered foil striping tape horizontally to match Delevingne’s playful rainbow ensemble.

"She wanted her nails to accentuate the delicate pink florals that adorned her hair as well as her doll-like blush. We ultimately decided on Essie’s poppy pink shade, Muchi, Muchi."

“If anyone is the epitome of camp, it’s Miley — so of course for the most fashion-forward red carpet of the year, we had to up the ante," says celebrity manicurist Lisa Jachno. "To do this, we chose Essie’s Licorice which correlated perfectly with her structured black and green YSL dress in addition to her Bvlgari jewels. To finish, we used Essie’s Gel.Setter top coat for a dramatic, lacquered look."
