The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) today announced the recipients of the 2014 PBA Sally Beauty Scholarship. Fourteen $1,000 scholarships have been awarded to high school graduates desiring to enter the cosmetology profession, and eight $500 scholarships have been awarded to current Beauty Professional / NCA members for continuing education in the field of cosmetology. More than 300 applications were received, and each application was reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair.
The PBA Sally Beauty Scholarships are funded by Sally Beauty, and winners were recognized at the International Salon & Spa Expo (ISSE) Long Beach in January.
"Sally Beauty is proud to have supported PBA for the past 22 years by providing over $200,000 in scholarships for cosmetologists," commented Jan Roberts, director of corporate communications, Sally Beauty Supply.
Applications for the 2015 PBA Sally Beauty Scholarships are now available. The applications deadline is November 14, 2014. Scholarships will be awarded at ISSE Long Beach 2015. Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school graduates desiring to enter the cosmetology profession, and six $500 scholarships will be awarded to current PBA Beauty Professional / NCA section members for continuing education in the field of cosmetology. Only PBA students and licensed professional members are eligible.
