One of the things I love about attending tradeshows is that I get to meet people in person who I have heard of or maybe e-mailed with before, but never actually met. Such was the case at this past Cosmoprof North America, where I got to meet nail art master Sarah Waite, the blogger behind Chalkboard Nails.

When I started at NAILS, I made a blog list of people to follow to learn everything I could about nails and nail art. Then when writing an article in the January 2014 issue of NAILS about bloggers turned beauty professionals, I was excited to see that many of my favorite nail artists were turning pro. I found that many of them had similar blog lists to mine, with Chalkboard Nails being one of the names I kept seeing. So when I actually got to meet Waite I was blown away by how cool and humble she was, not to mention talented.

After reading the list of the recently announced Beauty Changes Lives/CND Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship winners I was so happy to see Waite’s name on the list. Her Instagram account had this cute nail art design she did celebrating her scholarship win. The dotticure is inspired by the vision board portion of the application and is done in the BCL color scheme, with their logo on the thumb.
