Just a peek at some of the products used for the cover look.

One of the major bucket list items in my career was to do a NAILS Magazine cover. When that dream came true in 2012, I had no idea that the four covers done that day would not only be a milestone, but a beginning. It was shocking to be given the opportunity to do four covers in a day and I will always cherish them as my firsts. This recent trip to California marked my second visit to the Bobit Business Media offices and fifth cover. You can expect to see it in November 2014 and I’m just bursting to share it with you. I hope that you love it and have fun recreating it the cover look in the salon.

Me and NAILS cover photographer, Vu Ong.

When finished with the cover nails, I enjoyed giving photographer Vu his first on-set manicure.

The rocker nails I did for Vu using CND Vinylux.

I used CND Vinylux in Asphalt to compliment his killer ink and added a deconstructed accent nail to complete the statement he was going to make rocking such a fab color.

Me with Kim Pham, NAILS graphic designer and Viet Salon editor.

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
