CND held a training for Education Ambassadors in Carlsbad, Calif., this past weekend. It was themed “Catching Fire” with the idea that as a company committed to remaining professional, we needed to fuel our own flames of love for what we do in order to go out and share the love and education with others.
It was very inspiring and I’ve come away ready to help more techs reach for and exceed their professional goals! Things started off with a great fiery kick in the pants from Jen Planck (www.JenPlanck.com), who was a brilliant motivational speaker. She really knew what buttons to push and strings to yank, to get everyone ready to rock the industry.

The following day was all about art, beginning with Kelly Mellos giving an actual art lesson while painting a portrait live. Although a lot of the technique was beyond my ability, the information about highlight and shadow will be very useful. Hopefully in future videos you will notice some difference.
This was the first training I got to attend with BFF Mel (https://www.facebook.com/MelsTipsofTheTrade) who is celebrating a year of being with CND while I am celebrating 10! How awesome it has been to have someone to process everything with and sort out ideas and thoughts for future classes.
The weekend rounded out with some training on social media — you might know someone that helped a little with that segment ;) I hope that you feel the flames of my fire for this industry in person and right through your screen and that together we can all set the industry on fire with science and skills!

This video is a really awesome resource for figuring out a reasonable hourly rate for yourself in addition to seeing the average your area can bear in service prices in some ways.
Have you ever heard of the stages of grief? With everything going on, we are grieving our “normal”. That means you should give yourself permission to feel the way you feel.
Has all this PPE business got you down? Does it feel like it cramps your style? One way to help it cheer you up which will in turn cheer up your clients is to add some sparkle.
For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
It has been quite a while since I made a video for the e-file chronicles so an update to that seemed in order. The latest installment is removing gel-polish from an enhancement.
