What fun and interesting things are you doing for Valentine's in the salon? Not everyone gets the warm and fuzzies at the thought of this specific holiday, so maybe doing something a little different in conjunction with the usual couples stuff could be fun.

Maybe you could focus on love and friendship without the romantic angle; encourage friends to do something fun for each other or together? A clever trivia game on social media using info on famous or even infamous friends throughout history whether real or fictional could be something that's entertaining to your clients. It will also draw them to your social media locations frequently, where they may see what other things you have to offer or that will be going on.

Ever notice that several of your clients kind of get to know each other as their appointments overlap those few minutes or they knew each other years ago and reacquainted? What about a secret cupid game amongst those that will have appointments in the salon on Valentine's Day? You could have a retail section with gifts under $10 or even $5. You know who has appointments that day, so ask if they would like to participate and let them select a gift the appointment ahead of time to bring back and drop off for the person to have that they're trading with. If you want to eliminate expense, have them bring a clever homemade presentation of five to 10 inspirational quotes to exchange.

There are all kinds of ways to turn what can sometimes be an overwhelmingly depressing day into a fun day for you and everyone coming in to share it with you.

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
