Business building is something on the minds of nail professionals new and old in some cases. After asking for blog suggestions on my Facebook page it was the most common request. With that in mind I will attempt to find several ideas over the course of the coming weeks and give you as much inspiration as possible.

Listening to Nail Talk Radio this past Monday, I loved the discussion Millie Haynam started about Cyber Monday. If your salon has a website with retail abilities it is a great opportunity to move retail, gift certificates, and services. Starting now to plan for what you could do next year would be a good idea.

The other half of that is Black Friday, I do not have an online shopping cart for the salon nor do I desire to work on a day when I could be with my husband on a rare day off. I did want to somehow create an offer for my regular loyal clients though. I do text confirmations of appointments so just pulled up phone numbers and sent out a “Black Friday Text” for 20% of their entire retail purchase at the next appointment before Christmas. I will let you know how it works out!

Yes those dates have passed for this year, but a lot of business building is planning in advance, so while the season and ideas are fresh in your mind start making some plans for next year.

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
