How is your marketing plan for the year looking? I’m on April/May and trying to decide if I want to go the Mother’s day route, do a social media special, or somehow combine the two. What do you think and what are you doing?

Show season starts this weekend, are you going to any of the shows this year? I may be teaching at ABS in Chicago, I’m definitely teaching at the Nail Tech Networking Event of the Smokies, and plan to attend the show in Orlando so I can hit the Beauty Tech BBQ again!

Did you catch Doug Schoon on this week’s Nail Talk Radio? There was a great discussion about LED vs UV lamps and more. I downloaded the archive and listened to it on my BlackBerry yesterday, it was a very informative show. He also sent out a great educational e-mail this week that addressed the white spots on nails and proper removal of Shellac and gel polish services. No matter what brand you use science is science and Doug is a great go to. If you would like to be added to his e-mail list just send him your name, e-mail address, and country to dougschoonsbrain@gmail.com.

The first month of 2012 is almost over, how are things starting off in your salon?

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
