Making the Effort to Get Healthy

I attempted my second 5k walk on Saturday.

My client invited my son and me to join her team for the #bubblerundesmoines.

How have you been doing with your attempt to be slightly healthier this year than last? My efforts are plodding along.

A client of mine enjoys doing 5k walks and a while ago she invited me to come along for the #BubbleRunDesMoines this past Saturday. At the time I figured if I can do one, why not do two? So I signed the family up to do the 5k for the Autism Society of Iowa in April, then my son and I for the Bubble Run on Saturday.

The autism walk was a full family effort.

Unfortunately I couldn’t quite do half of the 5k in April, which was disappointing. This led me to be more determined for May and put in more practice. I’m proud to say that I was able to walk about two-thirds of the 5k on Saturday! My goal now is to plan for the walks again next year and be a finisher. Hopefully you will see that even your smallest effort is worth it. Last year I would have assumed I couldn’t do a 5k at all. This year I gave it a shot and was pleased enough with my progress that it outweighed my disappointment at not finishing.

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
