Let’s face it — in an industry full of women, you need to be a pretty good sport if you’re going to survive it as a guy. One such guy is Tim Crowley at NAILS Magazine.
Let’s face it — in an industry full of women, you need to be a pretty good sport if you’re going to survive it as a guy. One such guy is Tim Crowley at NAILS Magazine. You might have seen his name here and there, or even noticed that he got his first pedicure after going to work for NAILS. He's a good sport and will try (almost) anything on his nails at least once. (I did these barely there Egyptian symbols on his thumbs using Shellac.)
If you ever run into Tim at a show, be sure to feel free to say hello and give him suggestions on things you would like to see in the magazine or compliment something you saw that he put together. A lot of the men in our industry that appreciate nails do them on a regular basis. Tim has a great understanding for what we do and a passion for helping you do it better (even though he’s behind a computer screen instead of behind a nail table).

I wish there had been time on my visit a few weeks ago for me to spotlight every single person at NAILS and give you a small insight to what they do and how much they love what they do. But I actually had to get other things done besides chat all day so I just got some shots of those who I had the privilege of working with while on the property. I have insight on one more NAILS person for you next week and then you are going to have to be a patient as the rest of what I was up to will come at a later time ;)

Have you ever heard of the stages of grief? With everything going on, we are grieving our “normal”. That means you should give yourself permission to feel the way you feel.

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
It has been quite a while since I made a video for the e-file chronicles so an update to that seemed in order. The latest installment is removing gel-polish from an enhancement.
