Meeting the Talented Tech Behind Chalkboard Nails

Nail tech and blogger Sarah Waite has an interesting story.

I was introduced to Chalkboard Nails by NAILS Magazine (left to right: me, Sarah, and NAILS’ Beth Livesay).

Recently at an event in L.A., I had the privilege of meeting Sarah Waite, whom you may know as Chalkboard Nails. She is a pretty neat person with a great story. Her journey began as a DIY nail polish blogger and has evolved into her becoming a nail professional and sharing her talent with clients and other nail professionals.

It’s so interesting how each of us come to find the industry in one way or another. I was a DIY polisher before even realizing that nails could be a career. It was before the time of blogging and such, so it was a personal hobby that brought me a lot of joy and allowed me to feel pretty when my nails were polished to the best of my ability. Now giving the gift of beautifully polished nails to others in the salon is something that brings me a lot of joy!

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
