Thought you might like a break from the #nailcamp blogs to visit paradise, literally! I went from Washington to the Caribbean in a week and it was definitely a shock in temperature change.
The first part of my trip consisted of a cool biannual event called the Beaches BFF. This is an event that is open to the public and hosted by the Beaches Resort in the stunning Turks and Caicos. My involvement is to talk to attendees about the importance of nail care at home, finding a clean, safe salon, and generally encourage them to go with a pro!

It was so exciting to talk to attendees during the different get-together opportunities and open their eyes to things that they should expect from a salon. I armed them with proper anatomy, questions to ask, and a bit of science. I bring up this retreat to give you a fun idea for a getaway for you and your girlfriends, sisters, etc., as it is a truly magnificent experience. There is a class by Paul Mitchell one day and a CND nail class another so you could even write it off as education. One of the favorite perks of the trip for most attendees is the included $200 voucher to the onsite spa! This was another chance for them to experience nails done right, I take a lot of pride in having personally trained the talented women doing nails there and even more in how much they learn and grow every time I see them. Next year November 4 is the big 40 for me, I would love to have a big group of you to pre-celebrate with during the BFF trip in September!

Have you ever heard of the stages of grief? With everything going on, we are grieving our “normal”. That means you should give yourself permission to feel the way you feel.
Has all this PPE business got you down? Does it feel like it cramps your style? One way to help it cheer you up which will in turn cheer up your clients is to add some sparkle.
For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
It has been quite a while since I made a video for the e-file chronicles so an update to that seemed in order. The latest installment is removing gel-polish from an enhancement.
