According to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), “Mad Men” costume designer Janie Bryant has collaborated with Huntington Beach, Calif.-based nail polish brand Nailtini on four limited edition nail lacquers for fall.
Nailtini is known for its cocktail-inspired polish line. Base coats are called Mixers; the nail polish itself is called Straight Up Colors; the special effects top coats are called Toppers; and stencil nail art designs are called Garnishes. It’s a pretty cute concept.
Bryant told the fashion journal that she was inspired by fabrics used in cocktail dresses during the “Mad Men” era — velvets, satins and lamés — when creating the colors, which are a brown, gold, platinum and iridescent shade called Bourbon Satin, French 75, Deauville and Stinger, respectively. The $14 fall polishes will be able this fall in CVS’ Beauty 360 and Duane Reade’s Look stores.
