Debbie Doerrlamm has been one of my industry heroes from day one! The Beauty Tech site is the first online forum for nails that I found and a game changer for me in finding support and advice right out of school at the most frustrating times.

Debbie logs countless hours on the computer creating the site, monitoring it, and providing information, networking, and shopping. She has always been a wonderful, giving person when I've needed her help online or met her in person. Debbie is a big part of the reason I ventured in to helping other techs online as it was my way of paying it forward and emulating someone I have so much love and respect for.

Thanks to Nail Talk Radio, I had the honor and pleasure of presenting Debbie D with the Aaamazing Nail Tech Award for 2014. She embodies everything I think an Aaamazing nail tech should be: passionate about nails and education, open minded to the industry being a family no matter what products we all use, ready and willing to help those in need be they veteran or student, and so much more. Thank you all for honoring this incredible woman with me and thank you Debbie for shaping me as a nail professional and as an educator!!

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
