What are your thoughts on politicians using nail polish as a fundraiser? I was e-mailed this link by my BFF and just find myself unsure of what to think.

On one hand it feels a little insulting. Our industry has a hard enough time establishing credibility with salons not telling the truth about something as simple as what service they are really doing. Do we truly need to add politicians essentially retailing nail polish to that mix? On the other hand I try to find the silver lining in the clouds and a positive spin for most things. Red, white, and blue polishes are always a winning combination in my opinion, that’s positive right?

I would feel a little better about it if the proceeds were for a charity or something that would better the world we live in, and at $40 for the set that could feed a few hungry people. It makes me sad that they will more likely fund negative commercials and unsolicited phone calls to my home at 10 pm on Sunday nights.

I’m curious how you feel about it and if you can help me see it in a more positive light than what my initial impression leads it to.
