There may not be the words to describe how excited I have been to teach with one of my nail heroes, Doug Schoon. The day after The Nail Platform, Doug and I offered a class titled Science, Skills, and Social Media. The class started off with a segment on nail skills followed by an informational presentation from Doug on light, gel, and more. The afternoon was about getting attendee questions answered from one or both of us. There was even a fun and challenging round of salon safety bingo that encouraged everyone to put their thinking caps on. Going back through the bingo answers was a lot of fun and brought about some very interesting discussion that I felt all we all learned from. An attendee all the way from Iowa was the first to bingo and won the first official Doug Schoon Face 2 Face t-shirt!

I was super proud to learn several attendees were either still in school or fresh out. What a great beginning to their nail career! The day ended with hugs, photos, and autographs; unforgettable memories were made and it was an honor to present with Doug. Thanks again to everyone that took the time to come!

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
