Do you offer any home care advice above and beyond the usual? Maybe something fun, functional, or just plain creative to help clients take better care of their hands between visits? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a whole page or two of great and interesting advice to put in your Nail Notebook?

For this Tech-to-Tech I would love to know what your advice is and am happy to share some of mine. Then any who are interested can copy and paste the advice into a document to create a sheet to insert into their Nail Notebook. Leave your sage advice in the comments section on this blog!

To have hands that feel like they have had a paraffin treatment instead of an alligator treatment after washing dishes, apply your favorite hand scrub and massage it all over the hands for 1-3 minutes. Then rinse off and completely dry the hands. Finish by applying your favorite lotion, put on your rubber gloves and wash all the dishes. Hands feel soft and smooth!

Headed out to the garden? Scratch the surface of a bar of soap then put on your gardening gloves. When you are finished, remove the gloves and use a soft nail brush to clean under the nails. The soap will have protected your hyponychium from dirt and debris, then makes it easy to wash your hands afterwards so you no longer have those tell-tale garden nails!

I’m looking forward to reading your nail advice! For those of you unfamiliar with the afore mentioned Nail Notebook, go check it out and get started on one for your salon.

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
