Let freedom rings on nails this week by offering clients patriotic nail art. Follow this step-by-step by nail tech Kimberly Harr.

1. Apply a base coat, two coats of nude color, and top coat.

2. With navy blue acrylic paint, paint a square in the upper left corner.

3. With a red acrylic paint, paint stripes across the nail.

4. With white acrylic paint, paint white across the nail to create the iconic stripes. While white paint is still on the brush, paint small stars in the blue square.

5. Once dry, take a nail buffer and give the nail a distressed look. Wipe away any dust and add a layer of matte top coat.
