Sometimes in life there are things that happen that really bring to mind the circle of life. This is evident in every aspect, from watching our babies grow up, seeing our careers evolve, and observing the ebb and flow of life in general.

On Wednesday I taught as a guest artist in the school from which I graduated for Nail Technology in 1999. I lack the words to properly give the moment its due, but hope that you find understanding within the moment without the words. There were beginners eager to embark on a new venture, those in-between that are still somewhat interested in learning and really ready for graduating, then there were those standing on the precipice of the future, with one foot already in the door of the professional world. • Enjoy the tingle of anticipation if you are new — even when constant practice has you ready to quit.

  • Relish the challenge if you are somewhere in the middle — every day is an opportunity to continue to grow and change.

  • Give yourself credit where it is due if you have been in the game for a while and your practice has you closer to perfection than you ever imagined.

  •  Rejuvenate your passion if you are nearing the end of the circle and find closure with peace and joy to look back on fond memories of what you built with your own two hands.

Fate may have a say so in the cycle, but attitude gives her an idea how far you’re willing to go!

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
