It’s the day before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature is stirring….who am I kidding? A lot of us are running around like chickens with our heads cut off! Some taking last minute appointments at the salon, some finally making time to shop, others baking and cleaning.

In all the hustle and bustle of the holiday no matter which holiday you celebrate even if it is New Year, remember to practice what you preach. Clients can respect someone who lives what they say a lot more than a tech who comes in with trashed nails and ragged skin. Wear gloves for all that extra cleaning, use your oil and lotions on your hands, feet, or everywhere, and keep an orangewood stick handy for all those tempting things you would like to scrape or pick. Happy Holidays to you all and a warm cyber hug from Iowa!

This time of year is hectic
With running here and there,
Add all the extra cleaning
But don't neglect nail care.
Though they may be handy
Don't use your nails as tools.
Keep in mind dear ladies,
Treat your nails like jewels.

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
