We made it to 2014! I’m excited that my schedule is back to normal. Three of the girls finished the program at school, so it’s down to just three of us. Since there were no new students starting, we are going to go over liquid-and-powder again. Thank goodness! I need it!
This is one of my acrylic hands from last week. When we weren’t working on acrylic, I was painting away. My husband made me a sheet with ovals to paint on.

There are so many talented nail artists out there, I feel a little nervous that I’m not going to get it down like some of the amazing techs do. I am hoping to be able to do photo shoots once I’m licensed. I need to figure out how to get to that point.
More practice I guess...hopefully I can connect with a great mentor soon!
As of this writing this instalment of my nail student blog may be the last one for a while. Similar to many schools and other institutions around the world, due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic classes at San Diego City College have been suspended until further notice.
During week five, we received another lecture on skin structure, growth, and nutrition and tests on pedicures and nail tips and wraps. A good portion of the week was focused on giving manicures.

It’s been such a long journey, from being excited and feeling unstoppable to being tired and exhausted and feeling like I couldn’t do it anymore. Now, every day that passes and I get closer to my graduation date I get more and more energy.
