It was the day I've been waiting for forever — IBSNY! But on Monday after I came back to class from training, one of my classmates told me that my school had announced that morning that IBSNY was not going to be open Tuesday due to severe weather, so everyone had to go right then on Monday. But they didn't call me or anyone else who wasn't there, so we missed it! :-(

I was so disappointed because I feel that everyone who bought tickets should have been notified. Also, there’s a whole story as to why we are not getting refunds at the moment. It sucks, because I was so excited to go. So many different nail supplies were there and it would have been my first time being at IBSNY. Now I gotta wait until next year. :-(
Anyway, my training at Bed of Nails is awesome. I love it and I'm learning so much about how to perfect my craft. Right now I'm doing a lot of gels and learning how to make my application perfect. Also I'm now officially on the senior floor and I only have two weeks left of school and then I graduate. I'm so excited! On Thursday, I took my state board practical and I take another on Monday. But I know I passed and I'm ready for the next one. I also have to schedule when to take my other state board exams for my permanent license.

I'm excited to finally really have my foot in the door of the nail industry, and I feel like I'm living a dream. I'm so grateful that you all were able to experience all of this with me and I truly appreciate everyone reading my blog. You can follow my Instagram to keep up to date with me @Glammetiff since our time is ending and I won't be blogging for NAILS Magazine much longer. If you take anything from my blog, I want it to be that you should never stop following your dreams. No matter how hard it is and how many obstacles you might have to go through, never give up. Thank you again for reading my blog and I'll see you in Week 22!
As of this writing this instalment of my nail student blog may be the last one for a while. Similar to many schools and other institutions around the world, due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic classes at San Diego City College have been suspended until further notice.
During week five, we received another lecture on skin structure, growth, and nutrition and tests on pedicures and nail tips and wraps. A good portion of the week was focused on giving manicures.
NAILS has a new student blogger! San Diego-based Gregory Fletcher is looking forward to getting into the nail industry after retiring from his first career in the financial services industry
Let’s continue to shine, continue to spread light, joy and love to all around us! We’ll make a difference one smile, one hug, one nail service at a time!
It’s been such a long journey, from being excited and feeling unstoppable to being tired and exhausted and feeling like I couldn’t do it anymore. Now, every day that passes and I get closer to my graduation date I get more and more energy.
