We went over so many things this week. We went into more detail about Vinylux and the class got in some new fall colors. I love them all! Our instructor was attending some CND training all week and would share what she was learning with us. I can't wait to be able to attend those advanced classes. She even came back with a few items that aren't out yet, so that was a fun sneak peek into what CND is working on.
We went over Brisa Gel Lite and liquid-and-powder. Brisa Gel Lite is great for people who want long nails and can't wait for their own to grow out because this product is soakable! No need to file the natural nail — cool stuff! Another cosmo student allowed me put a full set of the new Brisa Gel Lite on her.

She wanted dollar signs on her pinkies so another nail student put it on for her.
Then came time for the liquid-and-powder. I was given a sheet to practice my mix ratio. I practiced putting smile lines on 10 nails…not cute. I did pink and white two times on my fake hand. My second round was a little better but not as smooth as my gel application.
As of this writing this instalment of my nail student blog may be the last one for a while. Similar to many schools and other institutions around the world, due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic classes at San Diego City College have been suspended until further notice.
During week five, we received another lecture on skin structure, growth, and nutrition and tests on pedicures and nail tips and wraps. A good portion of the week was focused on giving manicures.
NAILS has a new student blogger! San Diego-based Gregory Fletcher is looking forward to getting into the nail industry after retiring from his first career in the financial services industry
Let’s continue to shine, continue to spread light, joy and love to all around us! We’ll make a difference one smile, one hug, one nail service at a time!
It’s been such a long journey, from being excited and feeling unstoppable to being tired and exhausted and feeling like I couldn’t do it anymore. Now, every day that passes and I get closer to my graduation date I get more and more energy.
