My goodness, everyone was excited to learn acrylics. This is what we have been waiting for.

I'm getting the hang of this whole nail art thing and I'm loving it.
Hello Nail Lovers,
With two days left in module one, that also meant there were only two days until finals. While the free days were a stress reliever and allowed us to work on things we wanted to improve on, the fact that we had a quiz on four chapters kind of made me panic. Thank goodness for my class mates: We had a study session right before and guess what? We all passed!

Once our final was over, we started to learn about acrylics. We all had our sable brushes, dappen dishes, tips, files/buffers, nail adhesives, and e-files ready. We began practicing our monomer (liquid) and polymer (powder) ratios to develop the perfect bead. Once we finished a sheet of beads with variety of sizes, we moved on to overlays. My goodness, everyone was excited. This is what we have been waiting for. I absolutely love how supportive our class is as well. If anyone was frustrated, we helped and encouraged each other by reminding ourselbes that with practice, there will be progress.
One thing I'd like you to remember is that everyone learns in different ways at a different pace. You may feel like someone else's work is coming out better than yours, but that's okay. Know that there's always room for improvement and that's a good thing. You should always want to learn and get better and there's no better time than in nail school. Learn from one another and stay humble.
Our classmates are are apart of our journey. We're all here to help each other make our dreams come true so let's enjoy this experience and look forward to the future because it is bright, darling.
Thanks again for reading and until next time. Spread the Love ❤️
As of this writing this instalment of my nail student blog may be the last one for a while. Similar to many schools and other institutions around the world, due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic classes at San Diego City College have been suspended until further notice.
During week five, we received another lecture on skin structure, growth, and nutrition and tests on pedicures and nail tips and wraps. A good portion of the week was focused on giving manicures.
NAILS has a new student blogger! San Diego-based Gregory Fletcher is looking forward to getting into the nail industry after retiring from his first career in the financial services industry
Let’s continue to shine, continue to spread light, joy and love to all around us! We’ll make a difference one smile, one hug, one nail service at a time!
It’s been such a long journey, from being excited and feeling unstoppable to being tired and exhausted and feeling like I couldn’t do it anymore. Now, every day that passes and I get closer to my graduation date I get more and more energy.
