I never thought I would say this but I could go without a pedicure for a few weeks…just a few!
We went over pedicures from basic to every version of a spa-style pedi. We took turns performing procedures on one another. The school was offering free services to military families, so we were pretty busy from Wednesday through Friday.

I did have a client come who has been in the beauty industry for many years and we talked about working on photo sets — this is something I’m interested in so it was nice to hear from someone doing it. I gave him a pedi and mani and he told everyone that he couldn’t believe I was only in my second month. That was a nice complement! Just more confirmation that I am doing what I was meant to do!
As of this writing this instalment of my nail student blog may be the last one for a while. Similar to many schools and other institutions around the world, due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic classes at San Diego City College have been suspended until further notice.
During week five, we received another lecture on skin structure, growth, and nutrition and tests on pedicures and nail tips and wraps. A good portion of the week was focused on giving manicures.

It’s been such a long journey, from being excited and feeling unstoppable to being tired and exhausted and feeling like I couldn’t do it anymore. Now, every day that passes and I get closer to my graduation date I get more and more energy.
