How can I get a perfect French acrylic white tip?

August 1, 2007

Not knowing what products you are using, I don’t know how white the product is. But, in general, many nail techs apply the pink after the white and over the white. This will dull the white, sometimes giving it a gray effect.

Try applying your pink first, then work the white after. You can then place a bead of clear on the top. When you buff the nails, you won’t be taking off any of the pink or white. Finish with a good UV top coat. This method takes practice, but in time you’ll perfect it and your clients will be the envy of other nail techs! Also, be sure to take classes to help with your technique. You should always look at companies other than the one whose product you’re using. There are tips you may pick up from another company that you will be able to incorporate into your work. There are also wonderful new products that have been introduced recently that make the work for the techs much easier. Be sure to go to a trade show or call your distributor to see if any classes are being held in your area. Good luck!  — Lynnette Madden owns Salon 29 in East Greenville, Pa.
