How can I get my client's nails to grow and stop peeling?

September 4, 2008

I would suggest she check her medications to see if they are compatible with the hydration and strengthening products she is using. Sometimes high blood pressure medicine, arthritis medication, and thyroid medication is not compatible with nail products, and they can prevent them from working properly. Sometimes where a person lives can also have an affect on nails. A state with very low humidity can make nails even dryer, so the client would need a super-hydrating formula. Age can also be a factor. Sometimes menopause can play a part in nail health, especially drying.

You can also double check to make sure she is applying the conditioning products correctly. A good product I recommend is our Nail Tek #3 Maintenance Plus. It’s the most hydrating of all our conditioning therapies. — Marianne Hunter, Saverne Smith, and Valerie Clark are educators for Nail Tek.
