There are some pinky toes that are either non-existent or way too small for the Minx to actually adhere. In these cases, I will use a polish that complements the Minx. If I’m using Silver or Gold Lightning Minx, then I’ll use silver or gold metallic polish. If I’m using a pattern like Pink Cheetah, then a black-on-pink toe could work — just use whatever the most prominent color is of the Minx. It blends right in and no one notices. You can also get creative. For instance I once used a gold-and-white hound’s-tooth patterned Minx on a client, then on the client’s next visit I couldn’t for the life of me remove her pinky toe Minx…until I finally realized that I had painted it white with a little splash of gold to blend in with the Minx pattern. You know how sometimes we mix several glitters together and they make that magical combination that just pops, and other times the results are just so-so? What makes the difference? Why does the polish bubble on natural nails?
On some of my natural nail clients my polish tends to bubble. I clean the nail plate with acetone very well before I polish. Then I use base coat, two coats of polish, and top coat.
