In your salon, what’s your favorite piece of decor?

August 1, 2008

We have a Wall of Fame, which has pictures of my clients, their children, grandchildren, and pets...everyone looks at it and wants to know who everyone is.

Kimberly Morrow, Fancy Fingers & Toes, Peru, Ind.

I invested in a pedicure bowl that is indulgingly deep and the most beautiful shade of aqua blue. It looks like a piece of art; plus, it’s made of resin, which is nonporous and easy to clean so my clients have no doubt that it is safe and sanitary.

Karri Patton, Studio Karri L., Seattle

My favorite piece of decor in the salon is a set of screens we hung on the wall to camouflage the electric box. We purchased them at IKEA and they are so cool! Everyone comments on them and they are not only esthetically pleasing, they serve a purpose.

Gina Silvestro, Gel Essentialz LLC, Cranston, R.I.

We have a lovely set of pale blue candles of various heights surrounding a vase of willow stem branches that sprout cream-colored blossoms. They are set against a brown wall with other coordinating decorative pieces of blues and creams. I just love looking at it, and it smells awesome too!

Vickie England, eNails Salon, Encinitas, Calif.

My favorites are two wrought iron wall scone candleholders. The other piece of decor I love is my Murano pedicure chair; it’s the first thing clients see when they walk into my salon.

Berni Gordanier, Park Avenue Nail Spa, Syracuse, Kan.
