Filing off someone’s gels doesn’t have to be so difficult. It isn’t necessary to file off all of the existing product when your client wants a new set. I would recommend thinning it out as much as possible with an electric file, then smoothing flush to the natural nail. It’s easy to apply over the thinner surface.
If you don’t have an electric file, try using a new file with at least a 100/100 grit. Even if you have to use a few for one client, it will save you time. — Somer Downes is LCN USA’s director of education.
