Liquid-and-powder systems are based on two different components that must be properly matched and mixed at the correct ratio in order to achieve the desired results. Since there are so many different types of powders available, and these powders contain different levels of initiators and other additives, it is impossible to develop a monomer liquid that works with any polymer powder. Claims of a “universal” acrylic liquid are marketing claims and not substantiated by the scientific facts. Using the incorrect combination of liquid and powder and/or using these at incorrect ratios are leading causes for service breakdown and adverse skin reactions. All products should be used properly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Using the incorrect polymer powder with a monomer liquid would not be considered proper use.
