Why aren't my soak-off gels looking shiny after the first few days?

January 3, 2011

Great question! But always remember: Use your UV products as a system. A lot of nail techs mix their systems or use a lamp that is not calibrated for that system, and that can cause service breakdown.

On a UV product you also need to make sure the free edge is always capped with product before going into the UV lamp; a UV product wants to shrink onto the nail otherwise. UV gel products give a wonderful shine for two weeks when used correctly. -- Deborah Perrin is an educator for CND and owner of Debzart Salon and Spa in Tulsa, Okla.
