Challenge 2, sponsored by Mia Secret, asked the Top 11 to use two acrylic collections to create safari-themed nail art across 10 nail tips. This week’s guest judge was Blanca Martinez of Mia Secret.

Congratulations to Ashton Harlan for winning the first challenge of Season 6! Her saran wrap technique and icicle bouquets made for cool nails that showed off Orly’s Builder in a Bottle’s capabilities.

Challenge 1, sponsored by ORLY, asked our Top 12 to create gel art using Builder in a Bottle. They had to extend, encapsulate, and embellish the nails for a clearly gorgeous look. The contestants then created a video diary showing the process for the extension, embedding, and at least one embellishment. This week’s guest judge was Shanee Pink of Orly.

The Top 12 of Season 6 were asked to create nail art that celebrated their rise to the top. Contestants were allowed to use any mediums. These works aren’t judged or sponsored. Read on to see what their reactions were to making it to the finals.

The only online professional nail art competition is ready for the games to begin. After collecting applications from around the world and settling on challenges with our sponsors, all that was missing were 12 brave competitors who would go head to head January through June for a shot at the title.

Season 6 started off with 24 nail art murals done in honor of Day of the Dead. Both pre-challenges were sponsored by Swarovski Crystals, the official embellishment sponsor of NTNA.

The announcement came first on NAILS’ Instagram Live. The following 24 contenders completed essay questions, a video audition, and shared their artwork. The applications committee had the difficult task of going through the many top-notch submissions to choose just 24. It was agreed that overall, the applicants for this year’s contest were among the strongest quality in our six year history.
