In a victory for South Carolina nail technicians who use electric files, the state board rescinded its prohibition of electric drills following a public hearing.
If a state legislation that was introduced in February passes, nail technician students in Tennessee will have to complete 600 hours of education, instead of the currently required 300 hours.
Currently, the law allows nail technicians in New Jersey to own their own salon but not to manage it. To own a shop, a nail technician has to hire a beautician or hairstylist with three years of experience to act as manager.
